World AIDS Day

Mayor Raymond Giacobbe attended and participated in RWJ University Hospital Rahway’s first World AIDS Day event, along with Congressman Donald Payne Jr., Rahway City Council President Danni Newbury, RWJ leadership, and representatives of numerous nonprofit organizations united in fighting the HIV and AIDS epidemic.

In addition to remembering those individuals who have lost their lives to AIDS or who are living with HIV, the event offered free mobile HIV testing and a wealth of informational resources to our community. Tremendous strides have been made in awareness, prevention, testing, education, research, and treatment. Thanks to the dedication of so many professionals around the nation and the world, those efforts will continue and move us closer to the goal of ending the HIV and AIDS epidemic as a public health threat.
