Statement from Mayor Giacobbe re Storm Recovery

As you are aware, the City of Rahway was significantly impacted overnight by heavy rains and flooding caused by the remnants of Hurricane Ida.

Many residents have experienced flooding and other damage.

My heart is with each of you, and also with the family on River Road who lost their home to a natural gas explosion. Fortunately, those residents had previously evacuated and are safe.

Please keep everyone impacted by the storm in your thoughts. If you are able to, please also check in with your neighbors, especially the elderly

All City departments are working tirelessly to assist residents and business owners, repair infrastructure, and recover from the storm. We ask for your patience and cooperation as we continue this work.

Various assistance is available to you. For a complete list of contact information for City departments, utility companies, and the like, please visit cityofrahway.com or the Facebook pages for the City and myself.

Of course, in the event of an emergency, please dial 911.

We are Rahway, we are strong, and we will get through this together.

May God bless each of you and our City.
