Alcoholic Beverage Control Board
Overview
The Alcoholic Beverage Control Board is a three-member board that has the authority for granting and administration of all liquor licenses within the City of Rahway.
State Website
In order to renew a license, get an Ad Interim Permit, Petition to Extend Licensed Premise, apply for a Social Affair permit, and more, you'll need to go to the State website (POSSE) in order to apply.
Meetings
The purpose of the meetings is to conduct the regular monthly business of the Board including, but not limited to Presentations, Communications, Reports, Public Comments, Public Hearings, Approval of Minutes, and Approval of Resolutions. These meetings are open to the public. Formal action will be taken. Please be advised that the Board reserves the right to enter into closed executive session per N.J.S.A. 10:4-12.
Meetings begin at 6:30 PM the second Wednesday of every month, but June in which the meeting will be the 4th Wednesday, June 22nd.
Meetings are held within the Council Chambers of the City Hall at 1 City Hall Plaza, Rahway, New Jersey 07065.
As required by the "Open Public Meetings Act" Chapter 231, P.L. 1975, notice is hereby given of the following schedule of Regular Meetings of the Municipal Board of Alcoholic Beverage Control of the City of Rahway for 2017.

Please contact your caseworker that you are currently corresponding with at the New Jersey Division of Taxation or, if you don't have a caseworker, email the ABC Clearance Unit at the Division of Taxation.

- What Is Required For Liquor License Renewal?

Active & Pocket Licenses
- Tax Clearance from the State Division of Taxation
- $200 payable to the State of New Jersey through the POSSE system
- Fees paid to the City of Rahway by cash, check, or money order. Debit and Credit Cards are currently not accepted.
- For Club Licenses: $150
- For all Others, $2000
Pocket Licenses Only
You may need to file a 12.39 relief form through POSSE for holding an inactive license, which costs $100 per term you are requesting relief.
Late Fees
The City of Rahway does not charge late fees. However, the State has deterrent procedures, which include additional forms to fill out and fees.
